Tom Cornelius AIA

Principal / CEO - Architecture

As President of the firm, Tom oversees the management of GSC’s architecture and interior design efforts and also serves as principal in charge on select commercial, institutional, and planning work. Both a proud Aggie and Longhorn, Tom received his Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Texas A&M University and his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Tom is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and has been an integral part of GSC for 36 years. With a reputation for effective context-oriented architectural and interior design, he has a resume of projects with complex programs, aggressive delivery schedules and massive consultant teams.

As Austin rapidly grows and evolves, Tom is the leading the design for several epic campus transformations and adaptive re-uses of existing buildings to match today’s modern market. Current projects include corporate, multi-tenant shells for business government and research space in campus settings. Recent experience includes the new downtown building for the Texas Association of Counties, the bold new 250,000SF SHI office building, the transformation of the Tandem campus into the Austin Continuum.
