SHI Garza: Awarded LEED v.4 GOLD!

The United States Green Building Council (USGBC), in conjunction with the Green Business Certification Institute (GBCI), has awarded SHI Garza a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Version 4 GOLD Certification!!

SHI Garza is a shining example of sustainable design, envisioned, designed, and constructed in an intelligent, environmentally friendly manner respectful of our earth.  Light, airy, and packed with sustainable features, LEED buildings are open and inviting spaces designed to create a space that increases employee efficiency, multiply company profits, and help the environment. LEEDv4 demands excellence in energy efficiency, water conservation, site selection, material use, waste reduction, and daylighting. These rigorous standards help buildings consume fewer natural resources, reduce operating costs, increase value, and create safe, healthy environments for their occupants.

As SHI’s Texas headquarters, inclusiveness and “owning the design” were paramount. Reflecting Austin’s culture through openness, transparency, and green initiatives was at our design standards’ core. Beginning with site sensitivity, SHI Garza takes advantage of the surrounding density, walkable and bicycle routes, open space, solar power, daylight, and rainwater management.
